There are some like Rajiv Dhawan who have argued on this channel that its a shocking one sided judgment other like the wakf board have said that its partially disappointing and your party has said that it paves the way for building of grand Mandir. What is the big message that you  take away .. Ravi from this judgment

I am not here to respond to the conventional Pseudo-secularist who are abound on your channel ..today my take is entirely different. I have got the entire judgment key points before me which I have brought from lucknow

Ram was a revered pious figure for the Hindus… Muslims never questioned. Ram was born in Ayodhya…. they never questioned. Ayodhya is sacred for Hindus…they never questioned. What they questioned was that this is not the place that the Hindus believe he was born. Issue 14, issue 22, Issue 19 has been decided clearly by a majority that this is the place where Ram was born which Hindu believe for last 1000 of years. This is a concept of deity exclusive to Hindus which I have argued and it has been accepted and Justice Khan without saying so said in so many words that before this mosque construction Hindu has treated that whole area to be a RamJanamsthan though not very specific disputed area

Now One Judge has allowed the Hindus plea completely … All the judges have dismissed the plea of Babri Masjid Action committee and Justice Sudhir Aggarwal along with DV Sharma has clearly held that the place where Ram Lalla is Virajmaan today is the place which Hindus believe for generation as the place of Birth

Now you may recall Barkha in the white paper in Narasimha Rao Govt and the Farooque Judgment also they have said if its proved is the birthplace of Lord ram, we will willing forgo our claim and today when there is a judicial determination ..What I said their in lucknow immediately there after .. I am appealing to your channel .. you are saying India has moved and I am appealing to new India and not to the pseudosecular India who are abound on your channel

Please accept this verdict with all humility… you have got the right to go and appeal but if you help the Hindus willingly to construct a temple at Janamsthan, it will pave the way to new resurgent India.. of trust … of amity barka interrupting and that India appeal which I am making today not as a BJP leader or a senior lawyer or a General Secretary of BJP or Member of Parliament or Chief Spokes person but as an Indian first barka interrupting and I am quite sure Barkha regardless of Pseudo-secularist who are abound on your channel (barka interrupting…..your) There is a India waiting to respond to that appeal

I was going to say to you that I dont know if Javed Akhtar is Pseudo Secularist  for you but Javed Akhtar for one hour has been saying that this is an opportunity for reconciliation and that Muslim community must take away a positive message from this verdict and join hands with the Hindus

I dont know what you.. who you mean atleast you named one person Rajiv Dhawan but Ravi in that spirit of amity that you have spoken about .. we also got Shekar gupta joining us and Javed akhtar is laughing at what you have said barka grinning but I want to ask you in  this spirit of amity at this point should the BJP perhaps abandon issues like Kashi and Mathura .. should the BJP reach out to the muslims and say ok we have got a go ahead for our mandir but your mosque can comeup along side as well…Can we hear same amity from the BJP that you want from muslims

Barkha my reply is very simple I don't owe this reply to Barkha Dutt but when the reconciliation would start a lot f positive vibes would come about but what is my worry is before my appeal has even responded to al the derailment process I see on NDTV. That is something I don't appreciate

NDTV links everything to Babri Masjid

NDTV in an article How the Babri demolition changed politics is trying to link almost every violent incident in India to Babri Masjid Demolition

From the Mumbai riots of 1993 to the Karsevak linked Gujarat riots of 2002 to this attack on a temple, interrogation reports of alleged perpetrators always have one constant refrain - the Babri mosque demolition as a motivator.

Though there are several objectionable sections in this article, for the time being I will focus only on passage ‘Karsevaks linked gujarat riots’. So we read carefully the passage NDTV is saying ‘Babri mosque demolition was motivator for perpetrators of Karsevaks linked gujarat riots’

Now this opens up several interesting questions -

1. Is NDTV finally admitting that a crime was committed on karsevaks and motivation for same was ‘Babri Masjid demotion’?

2. Since NDTV has linked almost every violent incident in India to Babri Masjid demolition, is NDTV subscribing to action-reaction theory? In that case what is NDTV’s view on Gujarat riot which was reaction to Godhra Train Carnage

3. Why cant NDTV extend the action-reaction theory to ‘demotion of Ram Janambhoomi Mandir’ by Babar?

4. Wont it be logical to say babri masjid demotion occurred due to demolition of Ram Janabhoomi Temple which in turn led to other incidents as narrated by NDTV? so isnt the source of problem demolition of Ram Janambhoomi Temple?

 

High time Media starts respecting Majority Sentiment

As if on from Sagarika, now even India Today has called Lord Ram ‘Divine Encroacher’. In an article All parties play safe on Ayodhya, India Todays writes

The divine encroacher awaiting permanent settlement in the debris of the desecrated Babri mosque has not stirred the political Ram bhakts into belting out lusty cries of 'mandir wahin banayenge' yet.

We fail to understand how can a responsible media make such insensitive and crude remarks about one of most revered personalities in India.

Has IBN Journalist crossed the red line?

One is used to acidic barbs from Sagarika! but media watch thinks Sagarika has crossed every limit of decency and restrain by speculating if Lord Ram Divine ‘encroacher’ on disputed site.  

Dictionary definition of encroacher is

To take another's possessions or rights gradually or stealthily: encroach on a neighbor's land.

Rama occupies a very considerable place in our daily life of India and in the religious history of the world. He is the embodiment of righteousness and is believed to be the incarnation of the solar aspect of Vishnu. Even in death "Ram Nam Satya Hai" (The name of Ram is truth) is commonly chanted while carrying a dead body to the cremation ground in India. 

Statement of Sagarika has hurt religious sentiments of millions of Hindus across globe especially during such ‘troubled times’.

Media Watch strongly demand Sagarika and her employer IBN should apologize to the nation.

Media behavior as we Countdown to RJB Verdict on Sept 24.

Sept 16: IBN  face the nation topic is “whether the urban educated class is anti-Muslim.”

Sept 16: IBN Cobrapost conducts investigation “Is there an anti-Muslim bias in urban housing societies?” and arrives at conclusion

A Cobrapost special investigation report has revealed that Muslims in Indian metro cities find it difficult to get accommodation. There are certain societies in some cities that do not rent out to members of particular communities.

This controversy is not new.This was first raised by Shabana Azmi in 2008 when in an interview she claimed that she and her husband Javed Akhtar could not buy a flat in Indian city of Mumbai due to religious discrimination. In the same interview, She had even claimed that

Indian democracy unfair to Muslims

But according to some in film fraternity, she owns not 1 not 2 but four flats in Juhu, and a house in Khandala. The fact remains, there are certain Parsi societies that do not allow non-Parsis. In Bandra, there are many societies that do not allow non-Christians. There are some who do not allow Hindus who eat non-vegetarian food. This doesn’t mean secularism and democracy of our country is in danger

The question remains why is IBN is broadcasting such sensitive issues during such ‘troubled times’?

Sept 17: News Broadcasters' Association (NBA) issues guidelines for electronic media asking them not to speculate about the judgement and not to show the footage of 1992 Babri Masjid demolition.

Sept 19: NDTV discussed Ayodhya verdict: Time for closure?

During the program shows the pre demolition Babri structure. Is this not violation of spirit of NBA guidelines? if you cant show footage of demolition how can you show pre-demolition structure? What was the purpose?

Sept 21: IBN News Congress anxiously waiting for Ayodhya verdict

Are we allowed to ask what is this picture doing in a news on congress & Ayodhya Verdict?

Sept 24: India Today - SC puts amity before Babri Masjid verdict

NBA guideline clearly says not to show not to show the footage of 1992 Babri Masjid demolition. but India Today violates the spirit of directive and shows pic with Karsewaks on Top of disputed structure.

IBN & its famed Restrain

On Sept. 11, 2010 Pakistan flag was hoisted at lal Chowk by Kashmiri separatists. Shockingly, none of Media houses reported this incident. When questioned, IBN Editor in chief retorted to us in twitter

@i_panchajanya is the aim of a channel to exercise restraint, or to inflame passions? we live in troubled times. 

Noble intentions indeed. How can one question the need for ‘restrain’ during these troubled times. Though doubt lingers on what was Rajdeep worried about? Was he worried that this act by few mislead youth in Kashmir can cause communal trouble in rest of India or was IBN worried that visuals of Kashmiri protestors hoisting enemy flag in Indian territory will cause adverse impact on peace moves which UPA was planning?
Its not first time IBN has demonstrated such noble intentions. Last time they exercised similar restrain when CNN-IBN did not telecast trust vote sting as they felt the story was not complete and their rigorous editorial protocol demanded that even a hidden camera shoot is absolutely water-tight. I hope Rajdeep will excuse some of less mortals who ‘stupidly’ believe on ‘speculation based on hearsay, conjecture and mere guess-work’ that IBN chickened out under intense pressure from UPA.
Having seen such fine examples of restrain by IBN, I was intrigued by following news  at http://ibnlive.in.com
The headline read Ram temple in Ayodhya will solve the issue: RSS. It also  quotes Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat

"A nation's identity is based on Ram. There is a lot of suspicion in society. Issues can be solved by building Ram temple. If a Muslim supports building temple, no one will accuse him of being a traitor,"

Tough words indeed which can infuriate any person. I wonder why IBN didnot show their exemplary restrain while reporting this. Especially since Ram Janam Bhoomi issue has been one of most contentious issue India is facing during ‘these trouble times’ and when nation waits for Sept 24 verdict with batedbreath
Its more intriguing considering none of Media Houses has reported the above para. In fact, most of Media houses reported Bhagwatji saying

RSS' response to the verdict will be "within the limits of law, Constitution and democratic way."
"Hamare taraf se koi jhanjhat nahi hoga (there will be no trouble from our side). We don't want any type of divide in society, we don't see it as a Hindu-Muslim dispute but an issue of respect of our national values...in fact, if the temple is built there, it will help in integration of the society."

Noble words indeed. Words which can have calming effect on the society.

Finally, Rediff has reported what Bhagwat actually said

If tomorrow, Muslims say that let the temple be built then nobody will be able to say in India that Indian Muslims are 'foreign-bound'. (Bharat main koi nahin kahe sakega ke yahan ka Muslman videsh-parsat hai)!"

Lastly, Bhagwatji captured did capture the essence of Sangh
